About Me

Jay Bramhall

Jay has been making art ever since he could put pen to paper. Throughout his school career, he could be seen doodling in the margins of his notes and homework, which occasionally landed him in trouble. His favorite subjects were Math, Science, and Art, and liked drawing spaceships, dragons, Pokemon, aliens, and robots. From 2005 to 2009, Jay attended Oklahoma Christian University and pursued a degree in graphic design. It was there that Jay began to focus on his robot characters.

After graduating, Jay struggled to find a postion that would take advantage of his degree, but continued making art nonetheless. In 2013, he began freelancing full-time, creating pixel art game assets as well as graphic design pieces. Jay enjoyed the pixel art especially, as he could finally find homes for some of the character concepts he had been creating over the years, but unfortunately, the difficulty of finding work meant he had to move on.

In 2014, he accepted a position at Marco Fine Arts as a printer operator, learning to operate, maintain, and repair large-format printers. He was named Employee of the Month in December after keeping the printers running smoothly through a record-breaking holiday season. In 2015, he transfered to sister company Erin Condren where he learned to operate printing presses. Jay would go on to help develop their foil products and bring leadership and organization to the print department.

In June 2016, Jay set off on a much needed vacation across the Southwest U.S., stopping in locations such as Big Bend, Marfa, White Sands, Santa Fe, Petrified Forest, Flagstaff, The Grand Canyon, Mesa Verde, Durango, and Fort Collins to take in the art scenes and take photographs. Feeling refreshed and inspired, he returned to create his "Robots and Toys" series, which he sold primarily through Terra Toys in Austin.

Jay currently makes a modest living in Austin, TX as a printer technician and continues to create art. He also enjoys gardening, bicycling, painting and video games.
